5 month update!

Since I didn't do this yesterday, here is Laurel's 5-month update. Again, it's a long list, but a lot of the reason we do it is so that we'll remember all the cute things she is doing and how she's growing! Here are some things Laurel is doing at 5 months:

-Laurel is now eating rice cereal; right now just once a day, but will soon be twice a day.

-Laurel is still being a good little sleeper at night (Praise God!)

-Laurel takes two naps a day

-Laurel laughs a good bit and we love it!

-Laurel loves putting her hands (slobbery hands) all over faces and mouths.

-Laurel loves her Jump 'N Go, even though she only likes it for about 5-10 minutes at a time.

-Laurel likes her Exersaucer, but tends to only want to be in there 5-10 minutes

-Laurel can sit unsupported for several seconds before falling over; she needs a toy to hold in order to have that balance

-Laurel sits in her stroller "like a big girl" and loves it.

-Laurel has a little bit of stranger anxiety, but seems to do better with strangers when we're out somewhere or at someone's house, as opposed to them coming to our house.

-Laurel loves all toys that make music and sounds

-Laurel is getting a little dramatic; for example if you wipe off her mouth when you're giving her cereal, she just won't have that and she's often done with cereal at that point.

-Laurel loves holding onto things-her bottle, bibs, burpcloths, or just whatever you are holding

-Laurel loves to stand on your lap and bounce/jump-- she bends her legs and starts it herself

-Laurel likes to be read to (again only for about 5 minutes at a time)

-Laurel loves her Baby Einstein video (best dollar I've ever spent :) ).

-Laurel likes her baths and has started kicking around in the water

-Laurel's hair is starting to fill in more on the top and it's coming in lighter.

-Laurel is starting to recognize her name (or so I think), but it's definitely not a consistent thing yet.

-Laurel hasn't rolled over again since those two weeks she was rolling over when she was 3 months.

-Laurel does not like tummy time, but we can sometimes distract her with toys or by doing tummy time on our laps, her changing table, her crib and beds.

-Laurel is drooling all the time and she's putting everything in her mouth, but no teeth yet.

-Laurel is working on transferring an object from one hand to the other; it's so cute because she works so hard to do it.

-Laurel loves grabbing her feet and got her foot to her mouth once!
-Laurel turns toward wherever the sound is coming from-- for example, when her mobile starts playing music, she looks at the speaker.

I know that's a long list and I'm sure there's some I forgetting, but there is just so much stuff she's doing! Peter and I are really starting to comment all the time now of how she just looks so grown up and how she is doing more and more every day.
