Our sweet Laurel Faith is 8 months-old! She is getting to be such a big girl! We feel that this was another big month of change for Laurel. She is just doing so many more things that we're always saying that she looks so grown-up! Laurel just gets more fun every day and we just love seeing her personality come out!
Here are some things Laurel is up to at 8 months:
-Laurel now eats solids 3 times a day! Her favorites seem to be sweet potatoes, green beans, peas, pears, and applesauce. The only big dislike I've seen so far are bananas, but I haven't offered them in awhile, so I'll probably try again.
-She typically sleeps from about 8 to 8, give or take a half an hour. She takes two naps. Her morning nap is somewhere between an hour and a half to two hours and her afternoon nap is always different! I would say that it's most often between 45 minutes to an hour, but sometimes she'll go a lot longer, and sometimes she'll only give me 30 minutes!
-Laurel is not yet crawling, but she is so close! She gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth. When she is just on her tummy, she'll scoot backwards, but it's frustrating to her because she usually is moving away from where she wants to go.
-Laurel is doing great with a sippy cup. The Nuby sippy cup is working for us right now.
-Laurel started eating Puffs this week and loves them! (Puffs are almost like little cereal pieces, but they dissolve in your mouth and are flavored like fruits or veggies). However, when she picks them up, she throws them on the floor. She'll sometimes get it out of my hand, and the Puffs usually make it to her mouth. As of now, the princess most prefers that you put them in her mouth. :)
-Laurel loves to be standing! She is not afraid to make it known if she would rather be standing than sitting.
-Laurel pulls up on our hands and on the toy box. Lately, she'll spend a long time pulling up on her toy box, pulling things out, sitting down, and then doing it all over.
-I'm starting to see a little dramatic side :)
-Laurel likes books and definitely has a few favorite books. One of the few times she is ever somewhat still is when you're reading her a book!
-Laurel always has to be doing something! She likes to be entertained.
-Still no teeth yet
-Laurel had her first trip to the park this month and absolutely loved the swing!
-Laurel is still very generous with her smiles.
-Laurel is now a tummy sleeper. Oftentimes, she'll put her face right on her hands and it's the sweetest thing!
-Because of being a tummy sleeper now, Laurel had no trouble giving up being swaddled. We just stopped one day.
-I started putting a burp cloth in her crib for her naps and bedtime and she seems to really like that.
-Laurel will initiate playing the game Peek-a-Boo. I love it!
-Laurel has started banging toys together.
-Laurel loves when you clap
-Laurel makes changing her clothes and her diapers a challenge because she is always rolling over.
Those are the main things I can think of for now. God has blessed us so richly with our sweet girl and we just can't get enough of her!
