I got to celebrate my first Mother's Day yesterday! I always tease Peter that he has one up on me since Laurel was born shortly before Father's Day. :)
The day started at about 6:45 or so when Peter brought me breakfast (Krispy Kreme doughnuts! :) ) in bed. The day just got better from there!
It was also Baby Dedication at church! How awesome it was to dedicate our precious daughter to the Lord on my first Mother's Day.
1 Sam. 6.27-28 “I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the LORD. For his whole life he will be given over to the LORD.”Mommy and Laurel. Love my girl! Thank you Lord for this privilege!
Laurel's gift for Mommy
After church, we had a sweet time of lunch and fellowship with our families. As soon as Laurel went down for a nap, Peter and I both got to take a little Sunday afternoon nap (not too common of an occurrence for us, so it was such a treat!). Laurel barely slept, so we decided to take advantage of the nice weather (and break from the rain!) and take a walk around Seminary and Main Street.
Laurel was pretty fascinated with the fountain
The day ended by eating a late dinner of Chilis Take-Out after Laurel was in bed. I couldn't have dreamed of a more special day. Peter, thank you for being such an amazing husband and servant leader and loving me so well. You made Mother's Day so special for me! Yesterday was also such a precious reminder of how the Lord has entrusted sweet Laurel to us and we are committed to bringing her up in the training of the Lord.
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.
-Proverbs 22:6
"And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise."
-Deuteronomy 6:9

Happy 1st Mother's Day! Looks like you had a fabulous one.
we dedicated Hannah yesterday too!
Glad you had a great 1st Mother's Day! We did Izabel's dedication on my 1st Mother's Day but we couldn't do Tanner this year because Noah had to work. Laurel is beautiful and she looks more and more like you everyday!
