Since I'm so behind in blogging, I'm going to a few posts to try to catch up on this busy summer so far! I can't believe it's the middle of July. We're staying so busy at the ranch and with the boys that the summer is flying by!
Father's Day 2010.
Peter is such an amazing father to Laurel and I am so blessed that the Lord chose him to be my husband and to be the father of my daughter.
One day last month we went to a little theme park around here called Frontier City with the ranch. It was a hot day, but so much fun! I went with some of our boys earlier in the afternoon and Peter met us later with Laurel. This was Laurel's first experience with anything like this and she had a fun time! There was a little kiddie area at the park so Laurel was able to go on a couple rides that were just her size!
On a little train with Daddy. She didn't know what to think at first but she really liked it!
Laurel really got into it and started pointing at everything and asking her famous "What's this?"
Next, Mommy joined Laurel on a little dragon ride. You could made the dragon go up and down as it went around in a circle and Laurel thought that was so neat! As soon as she found buttons to press, she was happy as could be. She didn't seem to be scared at all. She didn't want to get off of the ride when it was over and since there was no one else in line, the ride operator let us go again.
Next, we went on a little "kiddie" roller coaster. We're all ready to go!
Coming down the hill. It was a little wilder than it looked. Now, I love roller coasters, but I did not think that this was a "kiddie ride." It was short and didn't have big hills or anything, but I thought it was much more jerky than bigger roller coasters.
My mama instincts took over once I realized how jerky it was! Notice that my dear child no longer as a hat. It fell off during the crazy ride (I should have thought to take it off) and the ride operator wasn't allowed to go get it until the end of the evening when they closed down. So now, Laurel's little hat is sitting in the lost and found at Frontier City.
Next, we went on the carousel. Laurel liked it OK I suppose, but I don't think it was exciting enough for her. The hardest part was holding her off until the ride started. She wasn't interested in the ride at all when it wasn't moving.
"What's this?"
