Laurel's baby doll is one of her favorite things now and she's really taken to holding the baby nicely. Sometimes I'll find the doll in a chair and it just makes me giggle. There is a cradle for the baby doll and Laurel knows that's where the baby goes.
We got to see Bibi and Papa last weekend and we actually managed to get a GREAT picture, despite a very squirmy (but adorable :) ) toddler!
So sweet!
Laurel and I have been going to the park a lot more recently, now that's it not quite so hot! She is having a blast!
Peter pulled out his coach's whistle one night and it provided endless entertainment for Laurel! She giggled every time Peter blew on it. She put it in her mouth, but couldn't figure out how to make it whistle!
She did, however, put it on herself and just thought she was big stuff!
And I wanted to note some of the cute things Laurel has been doing so I don't forget them!
-Laurel is really into transferring items from one place to another and I am just so fascinated watching her. Today, Peter noticed that Laurel put a bunch of her toys and books on the chair, then put them all on the coffee table, and then put them all back on the chair. In the bathtub the other night, she took all of the blocks that were in the water and put them in her boat (a bath toy)
-Laurel gets SO excited if she sees a dog (or any animal really)! It's been so nice having so many neighbors with dogs because Laurel has so many opportunities to see them and play with them. One poor dog is scared of Laurel though and always runs away when she tries to pet her! Laurel is really learning to be gentle with them.
-Laurel loves babies and will point out every baby she sees and is just so fascinated with them.
-Laurel is starting to become Mommy's helper. When I do laundry, she loves being able to close the dryer door and when I'm taking clothes out of the laundry basket, she puts other clothes in (they don't need to be in there, but I love that she gets the idea!).
-My awesome husband brought home a rose for me yesterday "just because" and Laurel was so excited about it. She pointed to it every time she came in the kitchen, but she would giggle and back away every time we brought it near her!
-Laurel has been imitating us more and more. Today, Peter brought his cup of water into the living room and put it on the end table. Laurel then went to get her cup and tried to put it on the end table too.
-When there are just a few little bits of her vegetables left, sometimes we'll put them in her yogurt or applesauce and she'll eat them. Now, she puts those leftover pieces in there herself! It can be the smallest lit bit and she will want to put it in the bowl!
We just can't believe how fast Laurel is growing up and we are just so fascinated with all of the new things she is doing!
