Cute Laurel Things and Slow Progress
A Few Cute Laurel Things:
-If I give Laurel bread with lunch of dinner, I always tear it up for her. Well the other day, I decided not to tear it up because Laurel's done really well with not taking too much when she bites off of it. After I gave her the piece of bread (she was a little surprised that I just gave her a piece), Laurel tore the bread into pieces, put it on her place mat, and then proceeded to eat it! It was so cute!
-The other day I got down on my hands and knees to sweep under the stove and Laurel got on her hands and knees beside me and pretended to sweep with her hand just like mommy! I loved that and I love how she is becoming my little helper!
-Laurel doesn't like if a door or drawer isn't closed all the way. She will point and make noise until we remedy the situation.
And some Progress!
We (well I) have been waiting what feels like a long time for Laurel to say mama! She's had "dada" for awhile, but no "mama." Peter always tells Laurel that she doesn't know what's in store for her when she finally calls me "Mama". I confess, I have decided that I will probably give Laurel chocolate for the first time when she is referring to me when she says mama! Laurel will point to me or look at me when you ask her where "mama" is, but she hasn't said it about me or to me yet! Well the past two days, Laurel has been finally saying "mama" and sometimes I can get her to say it on command. Now if she'll only just use it in the right context... :)
