The week before we moved, Aunt Betsy sweetly decided to throw Laurel an early birthday celebration! Uncle Bruce, Aunt Lauren, and Riley came over to help celebrate too!

I had a get a little more cuddle time in with Riley before the move!
It's neat to watch Laurel and Riley start to play together more. However, a lot of the "playing" consisted of Laurel teasing Riley with a toy!
Best picture we could get of the girls in their UNC and NC State outfits. And to top it off, it wasn't even planned that Laurel and Riley would wear their outfits!
Getting some play time in with Uncle Bruce and Aunt Betsy
Kisses for Aunt Betsy!
Anxiously awaiting the birthday celebration to come!
Riley was so excited! She was having a blast playing on the table!
Riley and Laurel's expressions as the cake is being brought over to the table...
Laurel wasn't so sure about the whole birthday celebration. She seemed so confused about what was going on!
Poor little Riley wanted to touch the cake so badly!
Laurel first touched the cake and then it went all downhill from there for her...
As much as Laurel can make a mess, she HATES

to have food on her hand and wants you to get it off immediately. Since Laurel was unhappy about the icing, we couldn't even get her to try the cake.
Laurel was D.O.N.E. She wanted nothing more to do with the cake. She wouldn't even try it! We know she would have LOVED it if she would have tried it. We couldn't believe this was the same girl that dug into her first birthday cake!
Although Laurel refused to have any cake, the rest of us couldn't get enough of the yummy strawberry cake that Aunt Betsy made! Thank you Aunt Betsy! Needless to say, this was not the best rehearsal for Laurel's birthday coming up in a few weeks!
Sweet Aunt Lauren, Riley, and the newest Ashford baby! We miss having them less than 10 minutes away!
Our little princess eventually recovered from the traumatic experience of us encouraging her to eat her own birthday cake! :)

Even though Laurel missed out on eating her cake at her own birthday celebration (which we later discovered that it was probably due to her not feeling well that week), it was such a sweet time spent with family. We definitely miss living so close! Thank you Aunt Betsy, Uncle Bruce, Aunt Lauren, and Riley for making it such a special time!

Hilarious about Laurel and her aversion to sticky messes. Can't believe she wouldn't eat any of her bday cake.
